Post update 19th November 2012:

I was at the workshop you held at Pentrecwrt Village Hall a few weeks ago – still improvising!
What a fantastic afternoon that was! Thank you so much, it was really inspiring – you are a great teacher Shelley and your enthusiasm and passion really awakened an urge in me to play and practise more and more!
I look forward to the next workshop!
With very best wishes and thanks again,
Thank you to Jane, all others who attended and to the Clarsach Society for booking me to take the workshop! It was lovley to see (and hear!) you all – a very enjoyable afternoon!
All best wishes,

Harp Workshops

This year has been a wonderful year for workshops, my little lap harps have been working hard!
Workshops have been for harp novices in schools, for family fun days, for themed evenings and of course for harp students all with music chosen and arranged for the specific events.
Camac Harps held a two day event in September and I greatly enjoyed talking a harp ensemble class on day two at Cardiff university – thank you!
A Summer highlight was for “Chill in the Park” at Bedwellty house in Tredegar where many Children and families came along to have a first try on the harps – well done to all who played tunes, told musical stories and sang with the harp!
Earlier on in the year there were many St David”s Day related harp workshops in school – primary schools booked workshops and assemblies to enable all the children to hear, try and enjoy the national instrument of wales. The Wales Millennium Centre also booked in some “Hands on Harps” sessions to tour around schools as part of their Celtic week, this was another great pleasure to be part of, thank you Emma Coulthard.
The next workshop will be a return to take a class for the Wales Branch of the Clarsach Society on the 4th of November 2012. Last year this was a really enjoyable afternoon, I hope to see you there!
If you would like to book a workshop for your school please have a look at some further information by clicking here.
For all enquiries please do not hesitate to contact me, I look forward to bringing 20 or so harps to your event!
All best wishes,

Harpist for Christmas 2012

Is Christmas event planning your role this year? I would be delighted to be the harpist at your Christmas event!
Christmas music on the harp is great fun to play and receives a lovely response from guests- from traditional Carols, Christmas tunes with a jazzy twist to Pop Xmas classics. Every year I smile when I get out the Christmas music and begin to work on Christmas harp arrangements new and old – be it to play at community events, Christmas fairs, drinks receptions, themed Weddings, Music in Hospitals concerts and of course at home around the Christmas tree!
2012 bookings so far for the festive month include performing as “HarpSing“, Weddings, Harp concerts for Music in Hospitals, Orchestral music, Harp music at various Christmas fairs and music for corporate event drinks reception.
If you have a special Christmas occasion you are planning for and would like live harp music please do not hesitate to contact me!
