Having live music playing in the background at your wedding or event can really add to the excitement and atmosphere of the occasion. An events & wedding harpist playing live not only provides you with beautiful music, but a visually stunning instrument that your guests can admire.

Make your day unique with a harpist

Mozart, Gershwin, The Beatles, Ed Sheeran? The choice is yours!

The choice of repertoire is entirely up to you. Shelley offers a vast array of different musical styles that will allow the performance to appeal to all your guests, including Classical, Celtic, Pop, Rock, Film, Show and Jazz styles. She can carefully tailor programmes to the occasion and venue – you can have as much or as little involvement in this as you like. Shelley has played for some functions where each piece was specified, to occasions where she has been asked just to see what works on the night!

Choose from 3 different types of background music

The Traditional Harpist

This is what you would expect: beautiful music on a beautiful instrument! A traditional harpist playing background music on the 47-string concert pedal harp, with Classical and Celtic music and/or Pop, Rock, Film, Show and Jazz genres available for you to choose to suit your event. The harp looks and sounds wonderful at venues, and if you are expecting a large number of guests, Shelley brings high quality amplification and her wireless pick-up system (no unsightly cables)!

The Strolling Harpist

Are you looking for live music to help make your event unusual? To get your guests talking about what they have seen and heard? Picture this: during your drinks reception, guests will be chatting, drinking, meeting up with friends and/or colleagues old and new. Harp music provides a backdrop to the occasion, then the harpist strolls by, wearing a golden harp, right next to the guests. This is quite an unusual sight. Choose low sound to allow for chatting, or louder for a really powerful start to your evening! A strolling harpist offers a very unusual twist and talking point at your event!

The Juke Box Harpist

Make the music fun and interactive! ‘Juke Box Harpist’ works brilliantly for the sit-down meal part of an event! Shelley performs background music selected by YOUR guests! Tables are given a ‘Juke Box’ Harpist song list (covering over 200 songs of Classical, Celtic, Pop, Rock, Film, Show and Jazz styles). They fill out their song choices and deliver them to Shelley who performs them! This is a great ice-breaker for table guests. We all like hearing ‘our song’ on the radio, so rather than leaving it to chance, enable your guests to hear their song on the harp!

Shelley offers music throughout your wedding day

The Wedding Ceremony

Harp music during this part of the day will include music as your guests enter and are seated before the ceremony, and then three or four main pieces of your choice during the proceedings. One for the Bride to enter to, one or two pieces while the wedding register is signed, and then music for the exit of the Bride and Groom followed by their guests.

Drinks Reception & Photographs

This is an ideal time to have background music while people are standing around chatting. The music will help create an atmosphere and can often work as a useful conversation ice-breaker amongst your wedding guests. The harp is also visually stunning so can add to the grandeur of your day.

Wedding Breakfast / Meal

As with the drinks reception and photographs, Shelley can play throughout your wedding breakfast and reception. She usually finishes playing by the start of the speeches (if you are having them) as preparations are then made for the evening wedding party.
